Jane
Jane came to the university from a performing arts high school where she was majoring in drama. When she applied to college, Jane decided that she wanted to broaden her education beyond drama and explore a variety of courses. So she entered the university undecided about a major. 
Jane is in her first semester at the university and taking 18 credit hours. She thought it would be a realistic credit hour load. She's one of those people, who believe that they work best under pressure. However, now she is overwhelmed with the amount of work she has to do and the time it takes to do it. Jane is not accustomed to the time and effort that is required for success in her courses. She feels lost in the big lecture classes and the lack of attention that she gets from her professors is getting to her, which, in turn, is negatively affecting her motivation.
